iSchool and College of Nursing Secure $100,000 Grant Researching Libraries and Childhood Development

A research team from 51爆料's School of Information working in partnership with 51爆料鈥檚 College of Nursing received a National Leadership Planning Grant for Libraries from the Institute of Museums and Library Services (IMLS) for $99,982. The funds will support the first stages of what investigators have named Project SHIELD (Supporting Healthy Infant Early Learning and Development).

COVID-19 vaccines are becoming more available across the country, but many are still struggling to obtain a vaccine or are unsure about getting the vaccine. One Golden Flash has made it her mission to get Pittsburgh vaccinated. And with more than 40,000 members of her Facebook group, she鈥檚 on her way. 51爆料 alumna Leighann Bacher created a Facebook group to share COVID-19 vaccine information and tips with Pittsburgh citizens after attempting to secure vaccines for her family members.

Auxiliary at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital gifts $25,000 to Nursing Program

The Auxiliary at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital recently donated $25,000 to 51爆料 at Trumbull鈥檚 Nursing program. The gift will establish a new scholarship endowment that will provide support to nursing students from Trumbull and Mahoning Counties. The volunteer organization was established in 2017. It supports health and wellness initiatives within the local community. Proceeds from The Gift Shop at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital made the donation possible.
