Convocation introduces incoming first-year students to the administration of the university and serves as their first academic ceremony in a pep rally setting in the MACC. Convocation will all you to show pride for your college and peers. This event is truly a unique way to kick off your academic career at 51±¬ÁÏ.

Need assistance locating your Dean's Welcome location? Stop by Risman Plaza right in front of the Kent Student Center between 8:45 - 9:15 a.m. Here, Peer Success Mentors (PSMs) will walk students to their specific Dean's Welcome location by college. All Dean's Welcome events start at 9:30 a.m.

After moving into your residence hall, what better way to start your journey as a Golden Flash than with music, fun games, and ice cream? This event will feature University Culinary Services’ renowned Golden Frost Swirl ice cream, music by DJ Smoov, yard games galore, a chance to meet your peers and student leaders on campus, and much more fun! This event will take place from 6 PM – 8 PM on the Risman Plaza/Student Green. 

University Orientation and Visit Experience and the Center for Student Involvement invite all new transfer students to a special welcome reception. Reconnect with the TKS Ambassadors you met at orientation, meet and mingle with other incoming transfer students, get some KSU swag and play some games all while enjoying some treats. This event will take place from 3 - 5 p.m. in room 218 of the Kent Student Center. Students can attend at any point during this period.

Join us for a tour of Severance Music Center, home of the Cleveland Orchestra. Completed in 1931, it is among the world's most admired concert halls. The cost is $10 per guest, payable at the event. We hope you will join us for this behind-the-scenes look at one of Cleveland’s most treasured landmarks!

51±¬ÁÏ will commemorate Juneteenth with a community celebration that combines the rich history of Black Americans with an assortment of festivities. Enjoy live performances, music, great food, vendors and more on the Student Green.
