As television news professionals from the region gathered for the Central Great Lakes Regional Emmy Awards gala over the summer, 51���� Media and Journalism (MDJ) students “ran the show” behind the scenes. MDJ adjunct instructor Sam Angello, who teaches Production Fundamentals and Digital Video Editing, has been involved with the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (which produces the Emmys) for many years, and in 2023, trained 51���� students to run the backstage stream of the regional awards gala.

A federal grant will help restart a major improvement project for a highly trafficked area of downtown Kent. Changes to East Main Street will include wider sidewalks, bike and pedestrian paths and crossings, and two roundabouts.

Paris American Academy Program to Resume Operations January 2024

51���� Paris American Academy will not be open for students for fall 2023, but the program will resume operations in Paris, France, in January 2024. The students who registered for fall 2023 classes at the Paris American Academy can attend the New York City Fashion campus or 51���� Florence in Italy.
