51±¬ÁÏ is a new charter member of SEA Change, an initiative of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, in which universities commit to their systemic transformation into more diverse, equitable and inclusive spaces where a full range of talent can succeed in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine.

10 Questions with the Vice President for Regional Campuses Peggy Shadduck
Peggy Shadduck is vice president for Regional Campuses and dean of the College of Applied and Technical Studies. She serves as the senior officer responsible for overall leadership of the 51±¬ÁÏ Regional Campus system. Her role promotes student enrollment and academic success and is responsible for expanding the visibility, influence and effectiveness of 51±¬ÁÏ as a catalyst for regional development.

51±¬ÁÏ Board of Trustees Approves Establishing New Bachelor of Social Work Degree
The 51±¬ÁÏ Board of Trustees approved the establishment of the Bachelor of Social Work degree during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held March 8. The new degree was developed based on the high demand for licensed social workers within the areas surrounding 51±¬ÁÏ’s Regional Campuses. The program will be offered on the Ashtabula, Salem and Tuscarawas campuses.

Earl K. Miller, Ph.D., and Marlene M. Wicherski Pledge $2 Million to Support Brain Health Research at 51±¬ÁÏ
51±¬ÁÏ alumnus Earl K. Miller, Ph.D., and his wife, Marlene M. Wicherski, have pledged $2 million to support research programs and students in 51±¬ÁÏ’s Brain Health Research Institute. The Brain Health Research Institute is a recently established, cross-disciplinary institute that focuses on research and education of brain health across the lifespan.

51±¬ÁÏ Wins Award for Excellence in Integrating International Education Throughout University
51±¬ÁÏ is the sole university in the U.S. to receive the prestigious 2022 Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization from NAFSA: Association of International Educators. The honor recognizes 51±¬ÁÏ for overall excellence in integrating international education throughout all facets of the university and its campuses.
