After planning and supporting hundreds of ceremonies and events at 51±¬ÁÏ, Lisa O'Connell, director of University Events and Protocol, got a graduate's-eye-view of summer commencement ceremonies as she walked the stage to receive her graduate degree as part of 51±¬ÁÏ's Class of 2025.

51±¬ÁÏ Celebrates Newest Graduates

The 51±¬ÁÏ alumni family grew by more than 1,000 new graduates from its eight-campus system across Ohio as the university held its summer commencement ceremony. The accomplishments of the Summer Class of 2025 were recognized with a commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. on Aug. 9.

In a Roundabout Way: East Main Street Construction to Begin on Kent Campus

Orange barrels will soon appear on a three-quarter-mile stretch of Ohio Route 59/East Main Street that runs through 51±¬ÁÏ’s Front Campus, marking the start of a three-year construction project to make the thoroughfare safer and more attractive.

51±¬ÁÏ will be closed July 4 to observe Independence Day. No classes are scheduled on the holiday, and university offices are closed. The university will resume normal operations on July 7.
