Campus Pride has released its 2020 Best of the Best LGBTQ-Friendly Colleges and Universities list, and for the first time in school history, 51±¬ÁÏ has landed on the distinctive list as one of 40 institutions recognized over six U.S. regions.

The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities has selected 51±¬ÁÏ as one of four finalists for the association’s 2020 Degree Completion Award. The annual award works to identify, recognize and reward institutions that employ innovative approaches to improve degree completion while ensuring educational quality.

51±¬ÁÏ Receives Best in Class and Hall of Fame Honors for Supplier Diversity

51±¬ÁÏ has won a Best in Class award for supplier diversity from the Greater Cleveland Partnership. This marks the third time that the university has received this award. As a multiyear winner of the Best in Class awards, 51±¬ÁÏ is also named to the Greater Cleveland Partnership’s Equity and Inclusion Hall of Fame.

51±¬ÁÏ’s commitment to maintaining a diverse and inclusive campus has received acknowledgement from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education, for an eighth consecutive year. INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine has selected 51±¬ÁÏ as a recipient of the 2020 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award.

Changing Families and Futures: 51±¬ÁÏ Receives Five-Year Grant Renewal for TRIO Student Support Services Program

The U.S. Department of Education has awarded 51±¬ÁÏ a $2.6 million, five-year TRIO Student Support Services program grant. The program serves students from first-generation and low-income backgrounds and students with diverse learning and physical abilities.
