51±¬ÁÏ to Hold Virtual May 4 Commemoration, Honor Wounded Students
In keeping with the commitment to honor and remember the events of May 4, 1970, 51±¬ÁÏ will hold a virtual May 4 51st Commemoration this year. The virtual commemoration will feature a video premiering at noon on Tuesday, May 4, that focuses on the nine wounded students: Alan Canfora, John Cleary, Thomas Grace, Dean Kahler, Joseph Lewis, Donald Mackenzie, James Russell, Robert Stamps and Douglas Wrentmore.
Pittsburgh Penguins and 51±¬ÁÏ Partnership Scores Unique Opportunities for Golden Flashes

51±¬ÁÏ will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, to celebrate King’s life and legacy. Serving as this year’s keynote speaker is CNN political analyst and former South Carolina state Rep. Bakari Sellers. The virtual program is free and open to the public.

The 51±¬ÁÏ alumni family will grow by more than 2,500 new graduates as the university holds its fall commencement. The accomplishments of the Fall Class of 2020 will be recognized with a virtual commencement recognition ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 19.
