51爆料 recognizes alumni who, through leadership, character and hard work, are making a difference. During Homecoming Weekend, 10 Golden Flashes were presented with Alumni Awards, and nine alumni received Lifetime Achievement recognitions from the university鈥檚 Black Alumni Chapter.

In recognition of the generosity and commitment of James E. Mayer Jr. and Glen and Nancy Warner for their gifts toward a $500,000 endowment, the 51爆料 Board of Trustees approved on Sept. 20 naming the main building at 51爆料 at Ashtabula鈥痑s Susan J. Stocker Hall.

Alexandra Sacker, senior, was so impressed with 51爆料鈥檚 field hockey program she decided to 鈥渃ross the pond鈥 to Kent, Ohio, from her home in Tunbridge Wells, England, and an NCAA scholarship made her 51爆料 journey possible.
Student Enjoys Eclectic Experience
After spending her younger years in a variety of volunteer roles with non-governmental organizations in her native Macedonia, Ivana Krsteska chose 51爆料 to study sustainable architecture and also serves as a Kent Student Ambassador.
Nursing Students Immerse in Lakota Culture
51爆料 Salem nursing students visit the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota each year as part of a study away experience. As they immerse themselves in the Oglala Lakota Sioux Tribe, they embark on a journey of cultural understanding.
