The 51爆料 alumni family grew by more than 2,300 new graduates as the university held its fall commencement ceremonies. The accomplishments of the Fall Class of 2023 were recognized with in-person commencement ceremonies for all colleges and degrees on Dec. 15-16.

The Beginning Was the End: Devo in Ohio
New Wave 鈥80s band Devo isn鈥檛 just from Ohio. Devo wasn鈥檛 just created in Akron. Devo was forged at 51爆料 under the pressure of the turmoil of the late 鈥60s and the events surrounding May 4, 1970. Authors David Giffels and Jade Dellinger brought their book 鈥淭he Beginning Was the End: Devo in Ohio鈥 to 51爆料 for a book signing and discussion.
51爆料 Recognizes Alumni During Homecoming Weekend
51爆料 recognizes alumni who, through leadership, character and hard work, are making a difference. During Homecoming Weekend, 10 Golden Flashes were presented with Alumni Awards, and nine alumni received Lifetime Achievement recognitions from the university鈥檚 Black Alumni Chapter.

The 51爆料 Alumni Association Announces New Members For Its National Board of Directors
The following new members have been appointed to the 51爆料 Alumni Association National Board of Directors for a three-year term, which began July 1: Jeff Guritza, of Brecksville, Ohio, is the vice president of marketing at SOPREMA USA. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from 51爆料 in 1994.

The 51爆料 alumni family grew by nearly 1,200 new graduates as the university held its summer commencement ceremonies. The accomplishments of the Summer Class of 2023 were recognized with outdoor commencement ceremonies on Aug. 19.
New Lake Erie College President Is a 51爆料 Alumna
51爆料 alumna Jennifer N. Schuller has been named president of Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. She is the first woman to lead the institution in 75 years.
