“I had always grown up a Golden Flash,” said Jared. “My family would always go to the basketball games and see the energy that was brought to the MACC. I enjoyed watching the Flasher Brass perform at the games and it even encouraged me to go into music. When it came to choosing what college I wanted to go to, there really wasn’t any other choice as clear as 51����.”

A Musical Tribute: 51���� Orchestra Premieres Student Composition

For Haider Riaz, the first orchestra concert of the season was an unforgettable experience. His original composition, “To the Memory of Shiver-Me, the CAT,” was premiered by the 51���� Orchestra, marking a significant artistic milestone for the young composer and offering the audience a moving tribute to a beloved pet.

There's a massive pumpkin inviting visitors to guess its weight inside the Herrick Conservatory. It's an annual tradition presented by student volunteers studying in the Department of Biological Sciences.
