My focus area for this thesis is the body, garment, and the deepening relationship between the two. I like to observe how a person walks, breathes, bends, stretches etc. and through those movements it shows the power clothing has over the body. The full collection highlights the internal conversation that a wearer has when putting on garments or moving around in them. This internal conversation allows for the deepening relationship between a wearer and their clothes.
The Blushing Bride Collection is an investigation into my thesis 鈥渉ow can one express and empower brides through non-traditional bridal wear to challenge the ideals within feminism and standards of the traditional bride.鈥 The collection pays homage to my mother and irreproachable femininity through my silhouettes, hand embroidery, and rare color pallet.
This collection delves into the historical impact of "hysteria" on the female identity, it explores its portrayal in narratology, psychoanalysis, feminism, and the healthcare system. Insight from case studies inform the collection, addressing it through shape, silhouette and colors. Encouraging a more informed appreciation of the intricate dynamics between her state of mind and societal perception.

鈥淗ow can we attempt to make the first step in changing the social stigmatism of femininity and empower the feminine until we cease to be viewed as easy targets for violence?鈥 The garments focus on movement, comfort, and ambiguity to create a world where being beautiful does not equal being fragile.
My thesis collection鈥疉h, Men鈥痗hallenges the viewer to reflect on the intersection of religious tradition and feminism as a catalyst for cultural shift. Translating silhouettes from Catholic tradition into a feminine collection for those who have been disenfranchised by the church was my ultimate inspiration and goal.
This collection is omnipresent nature that provides comfort and warmth, and was inspired by its textures. It combines natural resources with technological advances to mimic the real world. What resulted was an agglomeration of rugged denim, warm knits, and graphic prints.
How can garments transform color, size, shape, form, fit, silhouette, and/or type? I wanted to make garments that were as wearable as possible and in as many ways as possible while still existing within classic archetypes of dress. Inspiration was found in various day to day objects and operations.
