  Staying up late and braving the chilly overnight temperatures, Michael Gershe, senior advisor II in 51爆料's College of Aeronautics and Engineering took photos of the "Blood Moon" lunar eclipse that occurred from about 1 a.m. - 3:30 a.m. on March 14. Celebrating Flash at Homecoming

51爆料 will be illuminated by Golden Flash pride on Oct. 11 at our annual Homecoming celebration. The theme is Flash鈥檚 Birthday Bash, and in honor of this, those who formerly served as Flash mascots have been named this year鈥檚 Homecoming Parade Grand Marshals. Attend the Block Party at 9 a.m. featuring food, music, games and more. The Homecoming Parade will take place at 10:30 a.m., and will be livestreamed for those who can't attend in person. The Flash Nation Tailgate will begin at noon, and the Homecoming game starts at 2:30 p.m. 

Thomas Schroth Visiting Artist Series

51爆料 welcomes Bobby Sanabria, acclaimed drummer, percussionist, composer, arranger, bandleader and educator, as part of the Thomas Schroth Visiting Artist Series, Oct. 6-9, 2025. His residency features open jazz ensemble rehearsals, a Latin rhythm and dance workshop and a percussion master class, along with two major events: a presentation during Art Without Limits (Wed, Oct. 8, 10 a.m., Cartwright Hall) and a Big Band Concert (Thu, Oct. 9, 7:30 p.m., Ludwig Recital Hall, followed by a reception). All events are free and open to the public.

CDC holds annual Walk-a-thon

The Child Development Center will hold its annual Walk-a-thon on Oct. 9 and 10 to raise money for new bicycles and other supplies and equipment for the Outdoor Learning Lab. The center's Outdoor Learning Laboratory provides children with unique, hands-on learning experiences in environments outside of the classroom. This year, the children will walk from the CDC to the Student Center on the Kent Campus for yard games, popsicles and music. 

51爆料 Graduate Fair

University employees and students who are interested in exploring our world-class graduate programs are invited to attend the 51爆料 Graduate Fair on Thursday, Oct. 16 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Event attendees will have an opportunity to connect individually with specific graduate program staff, learn about support resources for graduate students and attend various workshops such as 鈥淔inancing Your Graduate Education.鈥 Masters, doctoral and certificate programs will be represented.
