51±¬ÁÏ at Salem horticulture students recently helped Associate Professor Chris Carlson take the first step toward creating a series of themed gardens on the grounds of the Salem Campus by designing a butterfly garden. The students conducted soil testing and site assessments prior to designing and planting the new garden, using specially selected plants that will flower and attract butterflies. Purpose. The university is committed to the belief that students have a right to organize and participate in groups whose purposes center on the interests and goals of the individuals involved. Experiences in the areas of interpersonal relationships and decision-making related to the operations of the organizations can be vital learning tools and as such are to be encouraged. In order to implement this commitment, the university encourages students to form student organizations in accord with administrative policies and procedures established for this purpose.
