Kent Student Center Programming, part of the Center for Student Involvement, hosted the 13th annual Rock the Runway on March 4. The runway featured 21 collections by 24 designers, many from 51����’s School of Fashion Design and Merchandising. Research shows that women are more likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease than men by a 3-to-2 margin. Some scientists believe this is because when women reach menopause, their bodies cease to produce estrogen, and the pituitary gland begins over-producing another hormone, luteinizing hormone (LH), to try to jump-start the ovaries. A unique partnership is helping to spread the “word” about migration, literally. Powerful and inspiring words are ringing throughout 11 cities in the United States, as a result of 51����’s Wick Poetry Center joining 22 other nonprofit poetry organizations to form a Poetry Coalition.
