The Communication of Science and Technology program will host the Wick Poetry Center’s Traveling Stanzas: Poets for Science exhibit Feb. 3-5 at the Engineering and Science Building atrium/lobby. This interactive exhibit explores the intersection of poetry and science. Visitors to the exhibit can learn about the Poets for Science Project and create their own poetry using the Traveling Stanzas digital toolkit. Gallagher, Ph.D., associate professor of Spanish, which led to him being named a winner of the Distinguished Teaching Award. Senior biology and pre-medicine major Jacob Wagner conducted research on new methods to lose weight involving the relationship between endocannabinoid receptors and muscle thermogenesis, both properties that regulate bodily functions and processes, such as appetite and burning calories. This winter at 51爆料, an art show and featured speaker on mental health will honor the life and legacy of assistant professor and artist Christopher Darling, who died June 2018. The events will take place Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020, hosted by the School of Visual Communication Design, in which Darling taught: The opening of “Christopher Darling,” a retrospective of the artist and professor’s work, from 4-7 p.m. in Taylor Hall’s gallery.
