SPEAK OUT Therapy and Research Program
The 51±¬ÁÏ Speech and Hearing Center was awarded a five year grant through the Parkinson Voice Project® to develop a Parkinson Therapy and Research Center in Ohio. This will be the only one of its kind in Ohio. The mission of the research center is to provide free treatment and support to persons with Parkinson’s disease and conduct related research.

The 51±¬ÁÏ Precision Flight Team finished 11th overall out of 32 teams at this year’s NIFA SAFECON. The competition was hosted by the city of Janesville, WI at the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport (JVL), May 13 – 18. The 51±¬ÁÏ Precision Flight Team was away at the competition May 6 – 19. The 51±¬ÁÏ alumni family grew by nearly 5,200 new graduates as the university held its 2024 Spring Commencement ceremonies. During a number of ceremonies, 5,182 degrees were conferred, consisting of 1,011 associate degrees, 3,092 bachelor’s degrees, 903 master’s degrees, 164 doctoral degrees and 12 educational specialist degrees.During the commencement ceremonies, graduating students heard from 51±¬ÁÏ President Todd Diacon and Senior Vice President and Provost Melody Tankersley. Pre-Departure Orientation
Prior to your education abroad experience, you will participate in a mandatory pre-departure orientation hosted by the Office of Global Education. During this orientation, you will be provided with information including but not limited to:
