51爆料 Board of Trustees Approves Partnerships With Aramark, PepsiCo

  The 51爆料 Board of Trustees today approved separate proposals for dining and cold beverage services that will transform the student experience throughout the university system. Following a competitive bid and review process, the Board approved the recommendation of university leaders to begin contract negotiations with Aramark LLC for dining services and with PepsiCo for exclusive cold beverage rights.

51爆料 Selects James Hannon as the New Dean of the College of Education, Health and Human Services

James Hannon, Ph.D., will become the new dean of 51爆料鈥檚 College of Education, Health and Human Services, effective July 1, 2017. Hannon currently serves as professor and assistant dean of Academic Affairs and Research for the College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia.

51爆料鈥檚 African Community Theatre in the Department of Pan-African Studies has announced plans for a production of 鈥淰enus鈥 by Suzan-Lori Parks to be directed by D. Amy-Rose Forbes-Erickson, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Pan-African Studies, and performed by the Pan-African Theatre Ensemble.

Rockwell Hall is located at 515 Hilltop Drive in Kent, Ohio. Students Turn Smartphone Cases Into Lifesaving Medical Devices

Three 51爆料 students have created smartphone cases that contain vital medication.  Together, with the help of LaunchNET 51爆料, the three created Case.MD. Ariella Yager, entrepreneur major in 51爆料鈥檚 College of Business Administration; Samuel Graska, cell and molecular biology major in 51爆料鈥檚 College of Arts and Sciences; and Justin Gleason, graduate student in 51爆料鈥檚 College of Architecture and Environmental Design spent more than a year planning, inventing, designing and 3-D printing smartphone cases that contain vital medication. Wherever your smartphone goes, so does the medication.

In observance of Veterans Day, 51爆料 will be closed Nov. 11 and will reopen Nov. 12.

51爆料 Remembers May 4, 1970, With 56th Commemoration

This year鈥檚 May 4 Commemoration, to be held May 1-4, 2026, will include special remembrances of John Cleary, one of the nine wounded students, and Jerry M. Lewis, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Sociology, who served as a faculty marshal during the campus shootings and worked tirelessly to ensure that the legacy of May 4 would endure.
