The 51 at Tuscarawas Library/Makerspace was buzzing with activity once again this summer as more than 600 children, teens, adults and families took part in the Library/Makerspace’s Summer Fun for Everyone.
Held throughout the summer months, the program offered an impressive lineup of hands-on classes and activities designed to inspire curiosity, build skills and bring the community together. Participants explored topics ranging from Fun with Physics, Police & Fire Safety, Basketball Fundamentals and Skills Camps, Exploring Nursing and Career Exploration to more creative outlets like Robotics, Container Gardening, Painting Wildflowers and an Introduction to Leaded Glass.
While the Library/Makerspace provides innovative equipment, instruction and entrepreneurial support year-round, this summer it became a dedicated place for both learning and fun.
“Many of our faculty and staff volunteered to bring outstanding programs this summer,” said Maria Feik, Makerspace technician and program coordinator. “It was wonderful to see so many people engaging with our campus, and the energy at the End of Summer Fun Party was the perfect way to wrap up the season.”
All Summer Fun events were free and open to the community, making it possible for families across the area to discover new interests together.
Tuscarawas County residents are also invited to take advantage of the Makerspace year-round, where use of equipment is free. Materials can be purchased through the Makerspace or brought in by the user.
