Meet Lanee Hall, a senior majoring in Biology with a pre-med concentration. She is one of 51爆料鈥檚 Recreation and Wellness Services鈥 dedicated Facility Specialists in Operations & Guest Services.
Lanee first joined the RecWell team in April as a Recreation Assistant. Despite learning about the position through a friend, she quickly found her own place in the department. What she values most about the environment is meeting people with different experiences, which has expanded her perspective and helped her grow as a professional. Lanee states that leadership has specifically grown, 鈥淚 have learned to be versatile as a leader.鈥
As a student-athlete on 51爆料鈥檚 Track and Field Team, Lanee brings a wealth of transferable skills to her position. She has competed in the horizontal triple jump for four years, and most recently placed sixth at the 2025 MAC Indoor Championships. Her commitment displays the importance of discipline, communication, and adaptability. Additionally, she has run throughout high school, earning MVP honors and carrying her athletic passion to her collegiate career. Lanee shares that the lessons she has learned on the track and how she balances her different lives have shaped the way she approaches her work in Operations & Guest Services.
As said before, Lanee explains that balancing academics, athletics, and on-campus employment can be difficult. However, she saw RecWell as a supportive space that gave her a healthy break from school. Here, she has built strong time-management habits and knows how to move between responsibilities while also recognizing when she needs to take a step back. Lanee points out that administration, staff, and peers have been a powerful addition to her support system since it is almost inevitable to feel things are heavy at times.
Lanee adds that she has recently enjoyed helping and welcoming new hires, doing her best to be present and reassuring them as they become adjusted to an unfamiliar environment. For her, learning to support others without overstepping felt like an important way to give back to the team that has assisted her. Lanee encourages new employees to ask questions and give themselves grace. 鈥淭here is a lot to learn, especially in operations, so try not to let yourself get overwhelmed,鈥 she advises, 鈥淭ake things step by step. Everyone is here to help.
RecWell is grateful for Lanee鈥檚 leadership and dedication. She has been an invaluable part of our community.
