Flashes are invited to celebrate 51����'s famous black squirrels at the annual Black Squirrel Festival from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, on Risman Plaza.    Scamper on over for food, music, games, tabling by local businesses and student organizations, and an opportunity for students to get a free t-shirt!  The event is presented by Flashes Activities Board and the Center for Student Involvement. 51����’s Wick Poetry Center recently helped create a new mural for the Haymaker Farmers’ Market.According to the Akron Beacon Journal, the new mural, located in downtown Kent on Franklin Avenue, is now the largest mural in Portage County and pays homage to both farmers and shoppers alike.  The design now features the “Haymaker Community Poem,” a project launched by the Wick Poetry Center that drew inspiration from shoppers and vendors who submitted poems for the market’s 30th anniversary.“We were thrilled to create the website and prompts, to gather a harvest of voices cele...
