51爆料 faculty, community partners named 2026 Engagement Award recipients

Several faculty members from 51爆料鈥檚 College of Arts and Sciences, along with community partners, are among the recipients of the 2026 Engagement Awards from the Community Engaged Research Institute (CERI).

The Engagement Awards recognize partnerships between 51爆料 faculty and community collaborators in Northeast Ohio. The awarded projects and teams were announced March 30: 

Water science and community capacity

  • Scott Lenhart, Boardman Local School District 

The project focuses on building local capacity for water science and management efforts in Northeast Ohio. 

School closures and mobility in Cleveland

  • Allison Lukacsy-Love, Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative 

  • Jennifer Mapes, Department of Geography 

  • Maribeth Feke, Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority  

The work examines how Cleveland Metropolitan School District closures affect spatial and social mobility networks. 

Community trust and policing in Cleveland

  • Starr Solomon, Department of Sociology and Criminology 

  • Christopher Dum, Department of Sociology and Criminology 

  • Leigh Anderson, Police Accountability Team 

The project centers on the Cleveland Division of Police and efforts to stabilize trust within the community.
